Jazz In Brussels
Jazz In Brussels and Belgium
When I arrived in late nineteen eighty-nine Brussels was a truly dynamic scene. In fact, I thought I had died and gone to a jazz heaven. The amazing 'Jazz Rally'. 'Brussels Jazz Club' one of the most beautifully appointed jazz clubs in the world located on the Grand Place. Overlooking the Place Fernand Coq the wonderful "Bierodrome'. 'Preservation Hall' home of traditional jazz, and much, more. A jazz scene where international names performed on a regular basis and who would drop in on a session and blow. A number of jazz luminaries made their home in Brussels including the late Mal Waldron.
Though Brussels is central, also included is material from other cities and regions of Belgium.
Over the years I have accumulated an archive of jazz related material. This site celebrates former days and more recent times. If you feel inclined to contribute just register and upload your: Photographs. Videos (including YouTube links) Press cuttings. Audio files. In fact any related and uploadable items.
Feedback and comments are most welcome.
